We were earlier using more or less traditional HR process that were highly manual and had a ESS sort for employees. It\'s been six month since we moved to end to end HR solution that also supports us with ESS, allowing HR to work on more strategic activities. I wanted to know if all HR think alike? Doesn\'t the need for these software makes sense as ROI is mind boggling?

Hi
As an HR i feel its a high time to go on systems and eliminate human interventions as and where possible and channelize them on some productive front.
I think going systems and outsourcing will play a very vital role in the field of HR.

Hi Anshul,
True but I am amazed to read and even at times encounter the hesitation from fellow HR to move from traditional HR to an end to end solution.... not only HR team gets to work on more employee oriented strategic work but also saves time and money for Management. We have been using this relatively new solution - PeopleWorks for over 8 months and it is surely giving us the much needed time for other employee engagement activities.
It's indeed high time that HR role should be made more tech oriented if you know what i mean.

Rao
P.S: Is your company using one?

Hi,
I second your thought. My previous companies were using PeopleSoft & Oracle HRMS but i also found HR colleagues not comfortable with the system. Well, i guess it takes lot of effort, patience and time to get used to of systems :)
Moreover, I don't want to offend and pardon me if i sound rude...i have observed that people from Non- HR background who are working as HR are very hesitant with the HR systems.
I am not working currently but wish to join an organisation soon who is using a good HRMS platform.
Cheers,
Anshul

Hi Anshul,
I think the hesitation is due to knowledge gap or inability to use cumbersome solutions that are usually available in the market... I personally believe that the HRMS should be user friendly and Intuitive.
Management need to realize the benefit of these solutions as not only the long term cost is curtailed but process like HR can be made more efficient and productive. I feel the onus lies on not just the HR but also the management.
I would like to know why HR's across maintain distance from such a solution?

Hi,
It is true that when it comes to adopting a new software, people do tend to hesitate.
New technology is seen as something akin to treading in unknown waters.... you don't exactly know the depth of it. The trick I feel, is, to have a session with all the employees, including HR, taking them through the application, pre-adoption, and extend a robust support system post-adoption.
Once they are familiar with the new technology, they would be able to see the benefit it accrues!

Hi Grasflower,
How true. But fortunately when we voiced our intention of using PeopleWorks at our organisation, we did it slightly differently. We asked the HR the pain areas and then matched it against the PeopleWorks solutions. And voila`, the response was positive. and the best part was that HR team was more than happy to promote and assist in the unveiling of PeopleWorks at office...
Ofcourse wouldn't take away the hardwork put in by the PeopleWorks team who stood throughout the transition and made it easy.
But when i speak to fellow HR's from different comps they show hesitation, even after knowing the full benefits of these HRMS solutions.... I wonder why?
Regards,
Rao
P.S- I have sort of become their reference speaker now... should start charging them...:)
