Dear HR experts,
I work in IT company and employee strength around 700. We have very good appraisal system, increments were totally based on ratings, but now management has decided to put control over salary increments. They have ask me to prepare salary increment grid as per budget, so as we have bell shape cure for all the departments and salary hike will fit in to that grid which links to budget.
Kindly share information related to this topic, any excel sheet working, reading material or web site ASAP
Thanks in advance and your help would be highly appreciated

Hi Sushanth,
Generally, the salary increases and bonus/incentives will be considered from the budget only and the disbursement of the amount may vary basis the Rating that each individual has got
Sit with the Management and understand the Bell curve (% for each Rating) may be they want to give higher % of increase to Top pool employees (Rank 1 & 2) and less to the mediocre group which may be larger in any organization
You can play around with the Bell curve in consultation with the Mgt (it could be 5% population - Rating 1, 20% - 2, 60% - 3, 10% - 4 & 5% - 5)
Hope this clarifies....
