Res Seniors,
Pl. guide me about the MPCB (Maharashra Pollution Conrol Board) as per them in pune we must not drain even one drop of water out of our factory, is it possible and is it as per the law.
While MIDC or PCMC has not provided anything to drain water outside and MPCB is instructing to not to drain water out of premises of factory.
How to handle with this (MPCB) authority.
Thanks and Regards,
Dev

Hi,
For this matter, I would like to advice you to please go through the Consent to Operate issued by MPCB to your company, where it must be clearly defined that what kind of wastes are allowed from your company. If your company is producing any waste water and which may be hazardous as per the environmental laws, MPCB or PCMC will definately take objection to drain out other than the standard methods. According to the norms by MPCB, it has to be properly disposed / recycled by inhouse waste water treatment facilities like ETP / STP. It would not be permissible to drain out through local drainage systems.
I would like to advice you to please go through the details of your permissions / consents by such authorities and try to make the necessary arrangements for its drainage. Now a days MPCB or such competent authorities are more strict to compliance of environmental laws. Hence take proper steps for the waste water disposal in consultation with your management.
I hope this will help you...

Dear Mr Dev,
Mr Atul S Malve has given very good information to you.
To begin with before you began construction of your factory you would have taken 'consent to establish'
and before commencing production you would have taken"consent to operate"
These two documents will reveal your company's responsibilities.
Additionally you can also try to know about ZERO DISCHARGE schemes.
By adopting this it is possible in certain industries to fully stop liquid discharge of any kind.
