Dear Mr. Masood
Leader need to have
1. Through Knowledge on the subject he is supposed to lead the team
2. Good common sense.
3. Sense of Humor
4. Good presence of mind to get the situation under control.
5. Capacity to turn the ugly event in his favour.
Here would like to tell a story.
A great educationist/reformist Mr. Madhan Mohan Malavia wanted to open a University in India to facilitate all aspirants to acquire higher education within India else they have to travel abroad, spend lot of money for a simple University Degree due to which only affluents could get education.
So he went on collection spree and in the process landed in front Nizam. He told Nizam that he wanted to open a University in India itself to help all aspirants to acquire University Degree without going abroad. Nizam was quite happy and lauded the noble cause. He then asked Mr. Malavia as what name he proposes to give for the University. In response Mr. Malavia said that he intended to name the University as “ BHANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY” .
Nizam got annoyed by saying that for opening a Hindu university, you are seeking donations from a Muslim and throw one of shoes on Mr. Malavia.
Mr. Malavia picked up the shoe without any sign of annoyance, went out and auctioned the same by saying that the Nizam is great person and for the good cause he gave his shoe as he was not wanting to waste any time for donation.
The shoe fetched good price in auction and the proceeds were treated as donation from Nizam. When Nizam came to know the outcome, he admired the presence of mind & intelligence of Mr. Malavia to turn the unfavourable situation in his favour.
