Hi all,
................AC Nielsen ORG-MARG's Campus Recruiter Index for Engineering Colleges indicated an increasing trend towards early intentional attrition amongst engineering students in India. The survey findings suggested that graduates desirous of leaving their first employers within two years or less has gone up to 64 pct this year as compared to 59 pct among those who graduated in 2005 and 47 pct in 2004. "The trend reflects the explosion in job opportunities for skilled workers, the growing IT sector and the aspirations of today's engineering graduates," said Mr Prasenjit Das, Associate Director, AC Nielsen ORG-MARG. In the most preferred employers list selected by the engineering students due to graduate in 2006, global internet search firm Google has made a surprise second place entry after Microsoft, displacing Mckinsey & Co to the third place.

Hi Atomleaf,
Thanks for posting this article....
Infact when i was reading this article yesterday following issues came up :-
* How are they affecting the positions of HR Professional's hiring strategy ?
What can we do if we are in IT industries which are facing this dilemma of high attrition rate?
Now doubt it's good that more options are opening up for engineering graduates ...but what needs to be understood is Business strategy of Google..
Will it lead the boom like dot.com bubble which went burst in late 1990's?..
What impact it will have on company's bottomline?..
Cheers,
Rajat
