I was interviewed by MNC company 2 days back.below are some questions that i was unable to answer.please help me out so that it will help in other interviews.
1.If you don't have portals ,Social networking sites & internet then how will you close the positions.
2.why are you looking for corporate?what is not there in consultancy and what is there in Corporate?
3.How can you convince a candidate for 3 months Contract? If the candidate is a permanent employee?
4.You are working in a consultancy.why should i hire you for this positions.what are the other things can i expect additionally when i compared you to corporate recruiters.
5.interviewer asked me the salary expectations.then he said he can give the same salary what i am getting now.again he asked me that why should i give more.
Please help me out.

Dear Pooja,
I agree with vikas what ever he said is really acceptable bu i would like to add few more word to the line.
As am working with a german MNC, we have a practice that when ever ther is vacency is generated we post it with competency requirement on our notice board. if any body within the organisation is interested we conduct the intervew if found him as per requirement we relocate them and identifies competency within the organisation and replacement for relocated again the same policy applies if it is not possible then we go for external agencies.
Every interview is learning.
I have almost 11 year experience in HR even still am learning during the interviews from candidates and they too.
So don`t worry be confident.

Hi Pooja,

Ans No.1 : You can go publication in news paper and conduct walk in or through the local placement agencies or through our HR Team communation channels.

A No.2 :Mostly corporates are formed for the companies they multi locational plants or business.

Role of Corporate is analysis and formation of policie monitoring the MIS or analysis.

Implemention or execution of policies.

Audits and decission making for multi location plant as a platform for discussion.

A No.3 : Intention behind the question is more important to comment or suggest.

A No.4 : Understaing of job description is your core competency and assesment of the individual for the position.

A wrong hiring will can casue a blunder for the organisation as you have much experience in recruiting and good knowledge of other companies because you were regularly interacting with cliend companies and you the culture of the companies and corporates.

You will be adding value to the organisation by providing right candidate at right place.

A No.5 If you through peanuts definately monkeys will come as your a professional the only answer is carrier growith in terms of monetory and professionally growth.

Hi pooja ,

Here is my answers for your questions.

1.If i don't have portals ,Social networking sites & internet then i will go for referencing and Headhunting. personally i believe portals is just a database we can't do Recruitment only with the database.

2.When you work for corporate you will get more exposure than the consultancy and you will gain decision making skill and also interpersonal skills.

3.Recruitment is all about selling the company to the candidate ...if he doesn't agree to go for 3 months contract probably it means i did't sell my company to him effectively ..lack of selling skill..

4.My job specification is matched with your job requirement .if you hire me to your company my responsibility will get increased .once i entered into corporate culture obviously i need to perform well more that the corporate recruiters do cuz i need to stick with your company for long run ..

5.I heard basically i'll get 35 % hike from the company and now i am not demanding that much hike just expecting more salary than what i am getting right now .

Let me tell you few thing s about interviews, when you have no job you will attend some interviews where they do not have actual vacancy they would just call you are post walkin interviews on portal and will conduct interviews just to sharpen their interviewing skills, and to train their employees on interviewing skills,
So don't but that's a learning you need to attend so many interview without getting frustrated that you should be able to say to yourself ask anything I am ready.
and let me tell you that there are so many consultancies which are started by people who them selves could not get any good job so there option was just to start a consultancy, I come across so many these kinds of consultancies every now and then.
I know that my comment is too late though your question wasted long back but its just for those who still face this problem
Don't worry
Thanking you
