I have not withdrawn my PF for more than 3 years. My old company asked me to prepare a PF Indemnity bond. How do I prepare it in Bangalore ? What is the value of stamp paper required ? Rs 100 / Rs 50? Instead of stamp paper can I get it done by e-stamping ? What declaration do I have to give in the Indemnity Bond? I am a complete novice in this area.

Dear Abhijit,
E-stamped stamp papers are useful when you are registering some document. The registering office can verify the genuineness of the e-stamp paper and validate it. The EPFO and other offices who accept
indemnity bonds, affidavits etc. have to machinery to verify the genuineness of the e-stamp. Therefore they insist for regular stamp papers only. However if you use franking machine and get the requisite amount franked from the concerned authorised centre/bank, it can be used for indemnity bonds, affidavits etc. together with cash receipt issued for franking. You may use a franked plain paper for indemnity bond, affidavit but not the e-stamp. The e-stamp can be used only when the document is being registered with the Registrar.
