Dear All,
we are facing a problem related to punching of employees.
We are having thumb punching machine for attendence. But some employees having problem with this coz some time machine not recognising their thumb impression. So we are providing attendence card to all as solution. But the fact is some employees are taking wrong advantage of this. they came late & fill the card as no punch givinng reason of machin problem. Now it is becoming harmful to punctual employees. what can I do now? Can anybody suggest me perfect solution?

I think in your office you ll be having access card facilities. With the help of it, In and Out time will be perfect. You can use the details for attendance calculation.

Hi sanika
any change especially one which directly affect ones comfort zone is automatically bound to be resisted ,initially we were also facing the same problem in our company, what i would suggest from that experience is that you need to be little strict in implementation of system apart from that put that machine under shed or inside room to avoid overheating (which causes that non recognition problem),place some wet cloth near machine and instruct everyone to wet finger before punching ,it will help, instruct people to be with clean hand
and above all immediately stop all other mean of employee punching and start discouraging
people who gives you excuses for non punching believe me once we were also thinking that bio metrics implementation is almost impossible but now all is well and we have completely stopped the proxy punching.
do tell me if it helps.

Why dont you register all the fingures of the employees and especially the small one i did faced such a problem but registering all fingures solved the problem and everything went right for more than 700 persons

A Bio Metric system recognizes only the thumb impression saved against each name & if the employee's hands are not clean then the system will not recognize his / her thumb impressions & hence his/her attendance will not be marked. As suggested by Atul, kindly stop all other means of marking attendance like issuing attendance cards, manual registers etc. and instruct everyone to clean their hands before punching as their attendance will be marked based on the report from the biometric system only & strictly adhere to the system - all will fall in its place. I did the same in my office too.

The above are good and practical solutions, especially the washing finger suggestion.
If all else fails, contact your service provider. I have somehow found Access ID card as a effective method, but there is a chance of proxy punching. This is not there in bio-metric punching.

HI,
Same problem we also faced, and aftr discussing wid our service provider we came out wid d solution as an added service with finger punch, face reader & card swipe. its a added tool + with added charges, now we r able to get data from three ways and no one can able to manuplate policy.
Discuss wid yr service provider.

Hi All, Atul is right, washing the hands and keeping the machine in shadowed area is a good option Regards SarveshShukla
