Dear Shweta,
CL stands for Casual Leave. It is given based on company's norms and regulations....In our manufacturing organisation, CL is given as 9 for a year on pro rata basis based on the number of days worked by an employee in the previous year...CL lapses at the end of every calendar year.
SL stands for Sick Leave. It is given based on company's norms and regulations....In our manufacturing organisation, SL is given as 8 for a year on pro rata basis based on the number of days worked by an employee in the previous year...SL is carried forward in case there are any left for the next calendar year...
PL stands for Privelege leave. It is also called as EL (Earned Leave) in some companies. It is given based on company's norms and regulations....In our manufacturing organisation, PL is given as 30 for a year on pro rata basis based on the number of days worked by an employee in the previous year...PL more than 90 days are encashed in ou company. PL if left in the current year are carried forward to the next next year....
Remember: All leaves are given on the calendar year....

thanks to all........
But clear out the formula of PL...... i. e. if total working days are 30 and employee working days in a month are 30 then according to formula given by amit is
30/30=1 pl or el and if employee working days in a month are 20 then...............30/20=1.5 pl or el that means if an employee takes no leave then he will be entitled of only 1 day leave and if employee working days are 20 then he will be entitled of 1.5 day leave......
please brief

Hi
I would like to differentiate PL and EL.
PL is privileged leave given in advance on prorata basis from the date of joining to last date of calender year.
EL is earned leave, which means leaves earned in a year on prorata basis from the date of joining gets credited in the beginning of next calender year.
Usually it is calculated as 1day PL or EL for every 20 days i.e 365(days)-52 sundays- national and festival holidays...it will come as 15 days which is standard.
