Hi,
I have been trying a lot since day 1 to educate employees here in my org. the essentiality of staying clean. We are a software firm and the employees here are though educated but lack basic etiquettes and are casual about cleanliness issues. The toilets, gallery, workstations are kept shabby. Especially for toilets, i designed posters and have displayed Intruction Manual in all of them. Still the result is not that satisfactory.
Please guide with ur inputs!

Hi Savitha,
a) start with "WHO guidleines for handwash". depending on the sector, workers are given a minimum 4 hour training on Handwashing practices.
b) Housekeeping is a integral component of "Fire manual" ie with good housekeeping fires can be prevented to the best extent.
Does your organsiation have a fire manual ?
eg spills, cross storage of different substances together.
c) does your organsiation impart training to electricians. even this is an integral part of Fire manual.
eg extension cords are simply not allowed beyond a 3 months duration.
electricians need to use "ground fault circuit interruptor" while doing any electrical work.
does your company provide them safety devices, normaqlly people give them substandard rubber gloves.
Arc blasty is a major hazard, they need to have face masks, full body suits ets.
share more data on your company's day to day work and i will help you indesigning SOPs for the same.
I am certyfified on Good Hygiene Practices "GHP" from CII and have formats based on internationally valid best practices yet they may be will be difficult to implement in majority of companies here.
