Hi Sri,
You should go for -
1). Microwave Oven having company logo printed on it.
2). relaxing chair
3). walky talky telephone set with FM Radio
4). bamboo chair set
5). Imported travelling bag / suitcase
OR
6). a free lensing job with your organisation to guide you / provide training to the
employees.

Dear Sriram,
I can suggest you to make a big collage of his journey with the organsiation for all these long 14 years. u may use his pictures at work from your archives and make a big collage and present him to be put on his wal at homel!
i'm sure he will like it with your true efforts!!!

Hello Sir,
This is my opinion.
You can give him/her copied CD which contains Close relatives, Friends & Previous employers& employees opinion about him.
Co-Workers can explain the situation where he/she prove their knowledge,Acheivements.
I hope it must be a "emotional gift"

Regards,
indhu.

Good Day.
You could give him an album with his photographs regarding his journey in the organisation and also few words about him written by his seniors and sub-ordinates. For gifts I would suggest:
1) Microwave oven
2) Dinner Set
3) American Tourister Bag
4) The latest Mobile phone
5) A Titan watch
6) A gold coin which has the company name embosed on it. Or a Murti of God
7) A gift voucher

Dear Sriram,
The option given by ameeta for relaxing chair or bamboo chair set is very good (out of the box thinking) and this chair will be remembered always whenever he will be in a relax mood or prefered to relax.
With addition to that you'll can take an large photograph and gift it with photoframe.

Hi ,
i match my opine with ammeta.....the gift of relaxing chair, walky talky telephone set with FM Radio, bamboo chair set are the best gifts..that are suggested, since they are most usable while using them he will be filled with all his remembrances.....
I suggest it is better to give a daily usable gift rather a gift which he packsup and stores it in his almara kinds...
I also suggest gifting him Novels according to his tastes, nice chafferer/gross pen sets..a pair of watch set for him and his wife..and also a group photo of your organization.
cheers,
Swapna

Hi Sriram,

You may present your retiring boss a book on "How to Retire Happy, Wild and Free" by Ernie J. Zelinski, published by "Visions International Publishing", USA. The book gives detailed guidelines how a retired person should plan his retired life.

I guess you could make a movie with lot of photos and with good music ....You can use Windows movie maker or any similar tool....Make sure that you convey the message to him that "you ,all the employees ...entire office atmosphere will be missing him!!!
Eg,you can use a photograph of a pathway in the workstation which he often uses being empty.
