Hi
I finished Executive MBA programme from IIM INDORE (Business administration) and from Narsi Monjee Inst. Mumbai (in Finance management) in first attempt. Presently I am working in BPO as an Operations Manger. I wish to go in Finance field but companies resist to take me as a finance manager as they dont consider the executive MBA as comparatively to any other MBA from regular course. The max they offer me is to go as an entry level which i dont want to go for.Even in operations when I applied for AGM or DGM level they dint consider me because of my executive MBA where as they took a guy from IIM Indore as VP in the same organization. I know that he has done a regular course which is a big thing but he had no exp. although my exp is more than 6 years and I have also studied so hard to get through a PAT test for IIM .Am I not even not eligible for DGM level which is 4 levels lower then VP. I know very well that both programme is AICTE approved.I need to know whether executive MBA in distance is recognized or not?

Dear Mr. Khan,
The problem is not with the program but the mental block many rectruiters have.
The most important resource in any organization is the decision makers, those who execute them, the people behind the machines, computers. etc.
But mostly the people responsible to select the right work force themselves are biased towards certain unwritten dogmas, self made beliefs and yes, mental blocks.
Their brains are programmed to pick up key words from resumes and not to pick up the requisite talents and skills.
I have met scores of HR top guys who fumble when asked to explain their documented job descriptions, list of skills required etc. This happens when it's a copy and paste job.
I guess, many a HR friends would disagree with this comment, but truth remains. The comment is not aimed at all HR friends, but a good lot of them who fit the above description.
Regards to all intelligent HR friends, please do not fume.
