Question: Our Company is PSU and subsidiary of National Aviation of Company Limited. Company was started in 1996, Company recruit employee on contract basis since 1996. All the employee like pilot, cabin crew, engg, ground staff are working regurarly wihout any break, contract are exteded from time to time. Aprox 700 employees are working. now company has decided to renew the contract instead of extention. Question is that:
1.Can employees calim for permanancy? What low says if they move to court?
2. Is there any different between renewal or extension? is it called fresh contract or continuation with earlier contract?
3. Is there any judgement of court where court has given judgemnt in favour of employee like above?

What you are saying is Fixed Term Contracts.Termination or Non Extension under Fixed Term Contracts is not retrenchment.
There are two categories one workmen and the other supervisory .If they are workmen continuous extension may lead to permanency .For that there has to be a group of employees who will form a class and the claim has to be made through a Union .
