Hello,
We are a manufacuring facility set up at Chennai. Due to the recent notification in ESI Contribution, with effect from 1st May 2010 the ceiling of the ESI has been increased to Rs.15000/-. I would like to know whether the following components can be considered for ESI salary calculation.
1. Attendance Bonus (which is being paid on monthly basis to all the workers)
2. Night Shift Allowance (which is also being paid on monthly basis for those workers who comes in night shift).
Please clarify ASAP.

Yes both items u have to consider for esi deduction. any amount paid in cash with the periodicity below 2 months will attract ESI........ Please deduct esi on both of them.........
