I will ask with the question in caps lock "WHY"....Is it so difficult to get HR job in Market?..and when you are having good experience...you are not a fresher.., Why we HR have to hear the same thing which we says to the candidates who are coming for an interview. I have gone through with some of the interviews, through the consultants....they says " we will revert back to you soon" / " we will revert back to you by next week" and this soon and next week never comes." Why" .., When we completed our post graduation .. we thought being a fresher & to get job in corporates.. it will be very tough... but today when are having exeperience than too we are facing the same problem. It forced me to think why HR job is diificult to get.We are forwarding so many resumes to our knowns, but why it happens when we HR needs job for ourself., HR is the base of any organization, and getting here job will be this much difficult, i was not know.. But i will say never loose your hopes..do your best..today while reading an article in Ascent , TOI... "The HR Career Guide " the article is about before 25 years ago where HR was and now after 25 year where HR .. HR people are getting thier names , for the brands. A senior person Mr. Sanjeev Duggal , CEO & Executive Director -Centum Learning Limited advises " HR professionals at junior level should be open for various HR domain, they should not restrict themselves to one particular domain, as they waill go above in their domain , from thier should see for some speacialization".
I totally agreed by his advise..& moving on the same path.I get motivated by that article, so thought should the same with my friends.Do they also think the same.
As we all know to get job in HR domain will be tough, but its not impossible to get the job in your desired domain. What we all need to have patience, and hope for the best.
Lets see on what path we have to go ahead.

Hi Akangi,
I totally agree with you. having worked in BPO for 4 years, i decided to quit BPO's and do my MBA in HR.
Now i think, i have made a wrong decision.
Any org will not require more than 2-3 HR exe.
considering that there are so many ppl doing their MBA i guess its difficult...

Hii...
@Anand
I totally disagree with you. Many competent & skillful ppl are unable to get job just because there are very less requirement for HR ppl.
There's need to establish a HR Dept in every company and whatever we learn in books regarding HR need & management should be implemented.

Hello All,
Opportunities do exist in HR. Ofcourse I agree that it is difficult but its because of competition and today companies are very selective in recruitments. Also HR function today needs not just MBA in HR, but more communication and anlalytical skills, ability to stretch and work and passion to deal and solve problems.Recently I hired a HR -Trainee after interviewing several profiles and the selected candidate had what I wanted - Passion for the job and willingness to work hard. He consistently approached me and followed up for updates. today he is among the star performers and he has earned a very good name among employees. He is just in his second month and a fresh MBA.
Right now there is another opening in HR and I have spoken to 3 experienced HR people and still they havent showed that passion for the job - communication isnt satisfactory and their only aim is compensation.

Anand

I agree with akangi.sharma, Also I feel that most of the HR opportunities are filled with the internal reference and there are very less chance for people who don't have a good HR reference. In the competitive world most of the HR peoples are familiar with the requirement and rejection criteria is not because of lack in skills.
My personal experience: I got an email from one HR manager, I replied and the same day he had given me a schedule to meet him. He interviewed for 40 minutes at last he gave me a feedback. Its clearly show that, he just want to meet some guys for interview but he is not really interested to hire and people from outside, because he has already find a guy in his reference. End of the day I just wasted a day time with that funny guy.

Hi
Akangi
I read ur discussion topic. Yes, I agree with ur point to some extent. Akangi in short n simple I would like to say that to get a job you should possess.
Qualification, Experience, communication skills and other pre-requisites that are required for the job. In some interviews even if u r suitable for the postion n u posses all the required, u may get rejected on someother grounds like salary or may be other person performs little bit better than you. Its not that u did'nt perform well n sometimes it depends on the interviewer. whenever u attend the interview be confident that u r going to perform well and u r going get the job even though you may have failures. Sometimes it happends after so many failures our confidence levels become gradually come down. So dont lose confidence n be confident that u r going to get good job somewhere else.
I've seen ur resume n everything is ok but I would like to ask u that why did u leave the job after year in both organisation inspite of having good job profile.
Be positive, Act Positive n Do the best n hope for the best,Wish u all the best
Cheers
