Dear Members
Wanted to start the discussion again. This time I wanted to discuss the new concept "Employer Branding"
" EMPLOYER BRANDING IS A CENTRAL CONCEPT IN HR MARKETING"
In an Era of Dwindling Demographics, Companies and Organisations Are Trying to Attract People and to Convince Them to Become Employees. They Tend to Use Many Human Resources Marketing Techniques to Do So.
It usually answers one basic question "WHY SHOULD ANYONE JOIN THE COMPANY INSTEAD OF ANY OTHER COMPANY?
It Defines the Personality of a Company As a Preferred Employer.
It Provides Potential Employees With Information on Business, Culture and Benefits of Working for This Company.
Not Only It Is Used to Steer the Recruiting Effort, It Is Also Leading in Generating Strategies for Retention and Motivation.
The Branding During the Recruitment Period Needs to Be Confirmed Once the Candidate Becomes an Employee.

"Employer branding" starts from the time of advertising till the orientation of the employee. Its a very sensitive issue. Projecting the company as the preferred company in the ads, and convincing the employees in the interview process in very critical.
Even the issues like keeping the candidate wait for a long time in the interview process or even responding during his interviews can affect employer branding i guess.
Infact HRs need to be better marketing executives to win candidates :D

Hi,
Even I feel that 'HR Branding' or 'Employer Branding' is becoming a very critical issue as it helps a lot for the recruitment team in attracting the right talent. If you have a proper HR Branding then it is easier to even retain good employees as they have a sense of belonging.

Employer Branding has 2 aspects to it. It is the "Candidate Jorney" - from the first time a candidate is mat till the time he joins the organization. "Employment Experience" - how the systems and processes in an organization are run for an employee to have a 'experience' which matches his 'expectations' which got created during the candidate journey.
But more importantly, the whole concept starts from the 'Values' of the organization. Like every Brand which is created, an 'Employer Brand' also need to have a Brand Identity, Brand Promise and as a result 'Brand Image'.
All employees in an organization are the 'Brand ambassadors' . But to maximise - all candidates who ultimately does not get selected as well as employees who leave an organization should also be the 'brand ambassadors'.
The real value of an organization would be realized if people who are outside the organization also speak well about the company.
Thanx

i would also take part with your research discussion in employer branding.
employer branding is not purely based on the standards that are laid for each of the company of the organisation but has the circumference of thoughts and the plans proposed by the employees and employer of the org.
hope u would get me well
