To identify the T& D needs of an organization , you can use the following ways:
Prepare a questionnaire
Observe
use interview methods
use self assessment schedules
ask for suggesstions
have a panel discussion
ask a consultnat or an outsider to give his opinion
Hope this serves your purpose

Where you need to conduct the analysis yourself, first identify the organizational or developmental objectives for the training. To help with this and the next stage of identifying specific requirements, we use a TNA worksheet. The worksheet basically covers the following areas:

1. TRAINING NEEDS ANALYSIS CONTEXT WORKSHEET

Project Sponsor:

Reason for Request:

Participant Roles:

Organizational Objectives:

Training Program Objectives:

2. TARGET POPULATION WORKSHEET

No. of Participants:

Location:

Department:

Education/Experience:

Background:

Current Job Experience:

Current Performance vs Expected Performance:

Language/Cultural Differences:

Anticipated Attitudes:

3. TASK DESCRIPTION WORKSHEET

Task Description:

Frequency:

Proficiency:

Performance Criteria:

Conditions:

Underpinning Knowledge:

The results of this are then fed into the high-level design of the training program. You can find a number of training templates on our website at http://www.businessperform.com/html/...anagement.html
