Hi All,

I need an immediate response from you.

I worked for a XYZ company in chennai. I signed a bond of 1.5 yrs while joining. The bond says if I will breach the bond then I have to pay the training cost incurred by the company. I worked with that company for almost 10 months. Then I got some better opportunities and talked to my Manager that I want to resign. My Manager was also planning to resign by that time. he told me to resign after he got relieved. I told him that I can't wait till that time. Then he asked ok sent the resignation only to me and not to the HR. Once the salary will be credited into your account he will forward it to the HR. I was least worried about the salary and even I was ready to pay the notice period. After 10 days I contacted HR dept for my releiving but they told that they have not received my resignation and due to absentism they have terminated me. I went to the HR Head and informed him about what happened but he also made the things difficult. I left the office.

After 2 months one of the lawyer sent me the legal notice on behalf of the company saying I have to pay the training cost. The company has not given me any project training. They have imparted only basic trainings on Communication skills and email etiquettes for a week and that is common for all the employees. Now they are asking me to pay that amount which is equivalent to $2500.00. They have also revoked my PF and the last month salary.

Now, the lawyer keeps on calling my parents at my permanent address and asking me to pay. Now, the lawyer is harrassing my parents saying that they will take legal actions and my parents will face the problems with this.

Seniors...Please help me what to do.... Looking forward for a speedy response.

I acknowledge the views of Mr.MalikJS, This clauses are mere tools of deterance for employer under employment practice.
Labour laws are enacted to protect the interest of weaker section of the society and labour is weaker section of society and employer is being stroner than labour in all respect he cannot take it a right for granted by virtue of this clause beyond employees wish to force employee to work for him.

Thank you so much MallikJs and Badlooser for your reply. I am much relieved now. It's almost 15 months since I left that company but still the lawyer calls my parents after every 3 months and harrass them. Any more suggestion.

I'm also facing a similar problem. I had signed a six months service agreement in a BPO but i left after 3 months assuming Bonds are not valid in India. But that company has now sued me in court and i'm getting calls from the investigating officers of the delhi session court to attend the hearings. Now i work in a reputed software co. and cant leave my job for all these legal hassle. Please do advise how can i get rid of this mess?
PS - I don't have sufficient money also to pay back the sum they are asking as compensation.
