I have a few doubts, kindly clarify me. I would thankful if you could give information about this
- What are the criteria for giving the Job designation for HR Executive and HR Generalist?
- What is the difference between HR Executive and HR Generalist?
- What is the role and function of above jobs?
Thanks & Regards

Dear Yashwanth,
- HR Executive designation can be given to the employee who is working in executive position in one or more than one different profiles i.e. would be handling recruitment profile, comp profile, IR profile, MIS profile, Legal compliance profile etc. But a HR generalist profile means employee handling almost all the facets of HR functions which is called as generalist profile.
- HR Generalist is a broad profile while HR Executive may or may not be the broader profile.
- HR generalist profile may be a manager, Asst. Mgr or an Executive But HR Executive is a exactly a Executive profile
I hope that clarfies your query. Pls feel free to revert in case you require further info.
regards,
Manoj

DEAR Yashwanth,
As i agree to Manoj, I feel that a HR Executive handles recruitment, sourcing, finalising, Joining formalities....participates in the entire gamut of Recruitment. Takes part in Induction , Confirmation and Resignation Whereas A HR Generalist profile concentrates more of Employee Relations, Events and updation of Employee records, leaves , attendance, MIS etc.
I would like to be corrected if am wrong in my analysis of the HR professiona.
Hope this helps you...

But my Query is that, i was attended some of the software company interviews, but faild only in english fluent area. Is that really important the accent of the language to get a software HR job?

Hi yashwant,
There is a wider scope of difference between both the profiles. As said in earlier post, A Generalist profile is more of Multi tasking, starting from Admin,Payroll,,Leave,Compensation,Performance,Recr uitments,Employee relations,Post Recruitments,Joining formalities and all.
Where as HR executive is also a support function which pays much emphasis on one specific task , I guess u might have heard about companies terming "HR PAYROLL,HR RECRUITMENTS,HR ACCOUNTS,.. So the person is specifically assigned to one task and his/her area of operations is quite limited to his own domain.
However, A generalist need not be a manager/Asst. Manager . Based on the Experience the Grade and Cader moves on .
Thanks.

Hey...
I will try to explain in simple terms..
Executive is a position / designation , which will depend on org. hierarchy. Somebody at a senior level might be given executive post in one company and in another may be junior most profile. COmmonly it is used for sm1 working at the execution level.
Generalist is the 1 who handles all gamut of hr activities, its a profile rather than designation/position.
For example : i am woking as HR manager in generalist roel in my org.
hope this suffice....
