Hi Preeti,
Your query can be better answered by me and the rest of the community if you could inform us about the location where the person is to be placed and as well the seniority you are looking eg: No. of years experience, age criteria, Certifications required etc...
Also would like to inform you that the position you are looking out for is quite a specialized one and which does have a lot of responsibilities.

Total year of experience is 3years, qualification is B.com and cleared M.com part -1 and has done PG diploma in HR. Now she is promoted as Manager, what should be the salary if we keep in mind all this things + her performance that to she manages all activities alone and delivers work on time. Current package is 2,16,000p.a which she feels is under paid compare to her performance.

Hi,
I beleive for the person who started off for less and since your firm seems to have given him a promotion you can ask him to settle for 4.5-5.5 lakhs per annum.
The guy deserves to get paid much more according to the responsibilities he has to look after but since he has only 2 years of experience and since your firm might have a good appraisal system in place, I think the amount mentioned is quite competitive.

Preeti,
I have gone thru your post and felt that you might be really under-valueing her. Provided the information as :
Exp: 3+ yrs
Qualification: B.Com, PG Diploma in HR and M.Com part1
Relevant exp to the Job proifle: 1.5 yrs
Efficiency: Delivers work on time
Location: Mumbai
I think you can think of reinvestment concept for her. Her current compensation is 2.16 Lac pa which monthly comes around 18 K pm, Which I feel in a financial capital of country is less. Surely her take home will be even lesser than that.
Consiering her situation, I would suggest you to rate her somewhere between 22 K to 25 K. If you ask why then here are few reason which I think will justify my opinion:
a. She got a over all exp of 3+ yrs and relevant exp is 1.5 yrrs
b. she would be having good lisasoning and business partnering skills
c. she covers areas of HR and Admin completely which makes her a key person playing a vital role.
d. She has got a PG Dip in HR - which makes her awared of HR core functions
e. She is an a geographical area where surely cost of living will be high but still she is associated with the company for more than a year.
Probably I think I have answered you to the best of my knowledge.
Thanks & Regads,

Dear Preeti,
I think your are demotivated. Think positve dont feel that you are getting less salary.
I know many people who are well educated and even not reached the manager tag and getting salary around 8-10 K. Now you can think how much better you are.
And the basic funda of HR is you have to motivated everybody but start with your self. Once if you are motivated and satisfied with your company than only you may convience any body in your staff.....!
what do you think am I right.......................! I may be wrong becasue I dont know your actual positon in the company Else I may try to expalin in details...............!
See ya ...
I am Gujarat........And we have one good funda here is Feel Good Factor and It really works try it out...............!

Dear Preeti,
I will suggest you to follow advise from mr SD Umesh he was serious and reasonable in his advise because in India salary is subject of horse trading as well as negotiation but we have to take into consideration the economic reality of todays world also.
Things have change no one can work for such meager amount as expressed by you as HR Manager. The minimum average salary for 3 years experience should be sustainable as HR Manager and retain your HR Manager for next 2 years. because after she will earn almost double salary ofher present scale.

Hi All,
Thanks a ton for replying me. I am so glad after reading all your replies. thanks again.
I am the person who is looking for salary hike. My company gives 3times hike if some one is promoted and if we have not appraised employee from so long time. Am still with this company. You can read my last years posting and will understand how frustrated i was with my present job. I have dropped last year post " what do you mean by admin assistant" after that post i started taking things in different way. Of course your alls replies has helped me alot in taking such a decision and to be with same org. Till date i have done too much of hard work to come here. Am happy and hope things will go on smoothly now. It was not at all easy for me to do all this alone without support of my director to whom i report and he is the one who takes decisions but now he also appreciates me alot and am involved in many things now, he takes my opinion in many things. There are still small issues but i know it will be also sorted out slowly.
I had a meeting with my director on Friday and he has agreed to give me Rs. 40,000 as salary per month. I am handling entire HR & Admin dept. giving support to sales & marketing dept, accounts dept and AMC support to technical team. We are staff of 13. I am able to manage all things and i always try to give my level best to each and every task which ever is assigned to me. Now management has strengthen me with one helping hand as a assistant to me.
Please let me know what i did in past ie not leaving this job was correct decision or not and what i am getting now is justice with me or not. As each and every one in my org. is highly paid now and others also have got hike in their appraisals. But i dont want to compare my salary with them even though i know i am getting less from them and am doing too much of work in comparison with them.
