Hi Nishant
I am answering the last question, which according to you is Microsoft Favourite, because it has a logical answer; leaving the other questions - where there may not be any right answer; to be answered by other members.
Manhole covers are round; to prevent them from falling into the hole, inadvertently. You'll notice that a circle has equal diameter, measured from any point on its circumference; hence if the rim of cover is even slightly larger than the hole, it will not fall inside.
Whereas, since in a square or rectangle, the diagonal is much larger than any of its side, one will need a very large rim around a square or rectangular cover, to prevent it being twisted and dropped inside the hole.
Hope, it helps interviewees.
Regards.

Though manhole covers are usually round, we have also square and rectangular covers in UK.

Everyone knows that employees browse the internet, read news online, chat with their friends, or run personal errands if they have a free moment at work. This is an open secret - employees as well as employers know it. Some kind of acknowledgement may have been more acceptable answer. Something on the lines of..
"I usually make sure that my schedule is full so that I don't have any free time. But off chance I do get a few free minutes to spare, I might utilize them to relax my brain a little bit by catching up on current events online, or reading up the latest news about the company I am working for. Again, if I am starting up a new job/position or project, I might also take that free time to get reacquainted with the company processes and procedures. Essentially, it all depends on my state and thought process at that particular moment.". But that's me.

[QUOTE=nishantjoshi;845325]These kind of questions are generally asked in a stress interview. I feel them to be one of the toughest to crack as it can make you fall from your chair if it comes suddenly out of the blue -

- What color is your brain?

I would certainly smile first. Well to be frank I have not taken the test. (Ignorance of the fact that suhc thing even existed).

Took the test via this link. Blogthings - What Color Is Your Mind?
It says my mind color is PURPLE

I will never recommend the accuracy of the reading becuase its just another blog - you might want to try it for fun!
(Hey I am posting a seperate thread on such type of quizzes)

- If you got on an elevator where everyone was facing the back, what would you do? I would ask them if anything was wrong.
If nothing seems wrong - I would face the usual way. The last thng I would want is to look at some one's back!! Errr

- Whom did you choose as your references and why?

I would like to give references of people, whose information will be valued. This would also give me a confidence that the HR people know my worth through references from people who are well known in the industry and would not give information on the basis of knowing me personally.

Being an HR myself I know how much the "refernce" from such professional people would help. That is the main reason I have given the references of people who are well known in the industry.
