You have mentioned that there is a contract between you and the boss that you will pay the am,ount in 6 months from Jan '11. You may be having a copy of the contract. It must have also been mentioned in your releiving letter OR they would have issued you a No Dues Certificate. Either of the ways, even a releiving letter is evidence enough that there are no dues pending unless it is mentioned as a conditional releiving letter. Your boss is trying to unnecessarily harass you. Lodge a police complaint immediately by stating all the facts. Please be sure to draft your own complaint and submit this at the local police station and get due acknowledgement on your application. May god bless you.

Hi Samitha,
You are in lot of trouble it seems but don't lose your strength and first of all i think you should change your mobile number and if possible then change your house too if it is on rent and then you will see half of the problems will be removed automatically and one more thing before changing your number abuse your previous boss badly so that he can't dear to blackmail someone else like you, eat him on phone. Scold these guys say something otherwise they will think that you are helpless so use the benefit of it.
And it's your personal matter may be i should not give advise to you but try to get a good friend who can understand you and to whom you can understand.Make good friends in your life after judging them properly so that they can help you in bad days because you are alone you need support and if possible go to your parents and say them sorry and do what they say regarding your second marriage or whatever. if something make you feel bad by my side then i must say sorry i can understand your feelings because i am also a girl take care dear everything would be ok.

dear smitha
in the absence of the contract, it has to be assumed that what u hv stated r true.my suggestions are like this;
- don't panic, stay cool
- explain the circumstances to the present employer
- lodge a police complaint or go and approach human rights commission or women commission
- worst can happen is the boss has to file a case against you for the recovery of the amount, and it will take time.
- take the help of some NGOs
so there are many methods. so think in this direction

Smitha,
Your decision of chaning your job is well appreciated. You can always sue that gentlemean and the law suports you only. However, before going to such an extent talk to him thro' your lawyer for settlement of your dues. Even if you've made up your mind to go ahead with legal proceedings defenitely he would come for an out court settlement.
lastly, try to get in touch with your family appraise them about the situation and do not ask for any favors but appraise them about the happenings and your stance. This will defenitely help you in the long run.
