hi...as far i can understand as you are short on manpower and you are finding it difficult to track the performance of each retail shop...in that case a form based interface for your users/employees can be very useful so whenever they make some sales they have to do the entry in the form and it will get stored at some place which can be viewed at any given time..this all can be easily done in excel

Friends
MIS is one complex, very important aspect in organising HR activities. It cannot be confined to one particular HR operations module. For instance, one database can be for all entry and entry related activities(Recruitment till Joining). One can be for T&D activities. Similarly databases can be created based on the need and process orientation.
The best I would suggest is create an MIS report and send us back. We'll comment. Thereby, you'll practically learn & we will get great ideas from you. Mutually beneficial.
Reena,
I can assist you in creating an MIS for a health care domain. Kindly send me the structure that you have.
Thanks.

Dear Vedha,
i went through all the posts but couldtn find anything useful.
We prepare MIS reports in our organisation too but very much different from the explanations mentioned below.
What others are making you understand is just a Summary report regarding you employees background, profile and salary details.
in real sense, MIS report is a report which studies the actual HR functioning in an organisation in regards to Abseenteeism, OT, Manpower shortcomings, Differences in related fields in different months, Difference in salary of last 6 months, etc.
This will show you what HR really does in the organization.
A detailed report which shows the core working of HR department in an organization.
Take Care.
