Dear Sriram,

From what U've stated, I'm sure something fishy going on there.

After 16 yrs. service it is foolish to go for final settlement, instead U should have opted for transfer of your balance to the new employer with continuity by which your PF Pension should have been substantial. Without an application in the prescribed Form your pre.employer cannot process your final settlement.

Now answer my questions -

1. You got all your pre.pay slips with you where all particulars of salary, deductions incl. PF deduction also are mentioned as a proof of what amount was recovered from salary towards PF. After verification U'will know if there is any difference (plus interest can be appx. worked out) and U can arrive at a conclusion.

Alternatively pre.employer as per law should have supplied statt.of A/cs. of your PF a/c. every year to all employees showing Op.bal, your monthly subs, interest, adv.drawn if any and closing bal. If so that statements will show you clearly about your PF A/c. If it is not maintained by your employer and they remitted your PF collections to PF Commissioner's Off. then ask for proof of remittance. If not U can see your PF A/c. at the PF Commissioner's office. Try to gather such information.

2.You're now re-employed where you are covered under PF isn't. Have you given them the transfer form and your PF A/c. & Pension Fund A/c.Nos. If not do it now and ask them to process.

Let us try to salvage whatever possible.
