hi!
As per the details given to me, your offered CTC is correct....coz., they have said to you that 25% hike in present CTC only, not in take home or any other part. I think they would have been asked your CTC, then you would have replied that this(6.63 L) is my CTC. So they have decided to offer 25% hike in your CTC.
Also your present CTC, you have mentioned is not an ideal. Check out your Benefits like Bonus, Gratuity is not mentioned.

hi!
Thanks for your reply. I have given them the total break up of my present salary during my intrv. My present company don't offer bonous and gratuity to any of the employee. If I'll join with less basic then will it effect in my next job change? Please suggest.
With Thanks & Regards

Bonus to be paid under the Payment of Bonus Act,1965 is to be calculated as under :
1. It depends upon the percentage on which your company wants to give bonus to its employees. Minimum bonus is 8.33% of basic salary earned during the accounting year and Maximum is 20% under the payment of Bonus Act,1965;
2. if you have completed five years of service without break you will be eligible for gratuity

Dear apekhya
You are absolutely right - "If I'll join with less basic then will it effect in my next job change? Please suggest."
I have examined the CTC components; the Take Home may appear slightly higher, but when you consider the PF, then the there is hardly any difference.
Others have also pointed out correctly that many of these allowances are conditional.
In fact looking at the salary structure, it is evident that your present company is better and fairer in dealing with employees. I would not advise a change/relocation.
Warm regards.

Dear Raj kumar Hansdah
You are absolutely wrong....coz. did you think about that present CTC is not having bonus and gratuity also Special Allowances. It is legally payable but it is not paid in the present company.

as per my experience as an employer i would like to minimize the basic salary because more the basic more PF contribution for employer side & same for the employee also & less would be take home salary. if CTC is more then u will be getting more benefit as fringe benefit or non monetary benefit & etc.
as in our sector salary is less compared to other sector but we get more non monetary benefits.
ok i hope u will understand

Dear csatha

Thanks for your opinion and pointing out that I am "absolutely wrong".
However, I wish to differ with your opinion.
Dear friend, my suggestion was not based on simple arithmetic on CTC alone, one needs to analyze and go beyond the figures presented.

If a company provides less basic pay and more in terms of allowance; that points to a tendency to avoid various legal dues (as they are always calculated in terms of basic pay) and taxes. Just as employers are wary of candidates who are job-hoppers, one should be careful of companies who indulge in such practices.

Moreover, the present company seems to be more credible as they have NOT SHOWN bonus and gratuity in the CTC.
Imagine how much it could have inflated her present CTC, if her present co. has also shown these figures in their CTC.
  • Notice how the reduction in Basic pay has shrunk the Provident Fund contributions, which is a lifelong social security.
  • SA is still an allowance, hence CONDITIONAL.
  • GRATUITY is also "conditional" and is NOT PAID EVERY MONTH (maybe your co. pays Gratuity to you every month - I do not wish to dispute that).
  • Performance Bonus again is a variable amount (and the basis of calculation may change from month to month).
  • If one REMOVEs all these HYPOTHETICAL amounts, what is one left with ??
  • Moreover, what can one say about a company, which FLAUNTS all these imaginary figures to lure candidates ??

Also, Her present company may be giving her incentive or ex-gratia in lieu of bonus (as she is not eligible for "bonus" as per the POBA 1965)

Anyway, you do not have to agree with my views, as they are meant for the person who started this thread.

I would request you to put forth your OWN views for the benefit of the member, rather than REACTING adversely to other's opinion - as this would result in un-necessary arguments and counter-arguments. I say this, with due consideration to your superior expertise and experience.

Warm regards.

Dear All,
Thanks for giving your valueable suggestion. As my present company is a new company in India and it started its operation in India since last 2 yr only so they don't provide any gratuity and bonous.
Somehow I'm also not convinced to join in less basic. When I'm thinking about bonous then that is a variable factor and there is no guarantee for that value. If I'll deduct the total bonous amount then the offered CTC amount will be equal to the amount which I'll get after appraisal. Let me speak with HR of that organisation.
Anyways, Thanks a lot to everyone..
Have a nice day!
With Thanks & Regards

It all depends on your negotiation. CTC includes every thing that will cost to the company. In the above case ctc rise is 25% and Net take home is 5%. It depends on the individual how benefited this offer is.
