You must be knowing that national & festival holidays are declared & granted under the State Act. Most of the States have enacted this N & F Holidays & C & S Leaves Act & we are to adhere to that State Act. We in the States Of Punjab & Haryana & UT Chandigarh do not observe May day as a compulsory Holiday. I do not have the knowledge of all the States Act but what I have observed form this citehr this seems to be the holiday in your Maharashtra State & might be possible in W B also.Members may be requested to give the correct information.
