As per the Ruling Under Section No. 3 of "The Tamil Nadu National and Festival Holidays Act, 1953", subsequently been ammended in 1970.
" Every Employee shall be allowed in each Calender Year a Holiday of one whole day on the 26th January, 1st of May, 15th of August and 2nd October and Five Other Holidays each of one whole day for such Festival as the Inspector may, in consultation with Employer and Employees specify in respect of any Industrial Establishment."
Note: The Term "Industrial Establishment" is defined in the Act to mean any Establishment, Shop, Commercial Establishments as defined in the "Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishment Act, 1947".
As per the above Act, one has to onserve a minimum of 9 days as Holiday in any Calender Year and accordingly, we propose as below:
