Hi everyone, I have 3 years of experience in the manufacturing field as a hr. Now that I’m moving into the IT sector, what documents and procedures should I be aware of? Please advise.

Dear Mekala,

Earlier you were working in a company for which Factories Act was applicable. Now you will be moving to a company where the Shops and Establishment Act of your state will be applicable. This is a major change. Therefore, apprise yourself of the provisions of this act of your state.

Secondly, the "Industrial Standing Orders Act" was perfectly applicable in your industry however, in a few states, the IT industry has been exempted from the provisions of this act. Therefore, check the provisions of your state.

Additionally, you need to learn the dynamics of the new industry. IT industry has its own rhythm and its recruitment challenges are different. Therefore, this will be something new for you.

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
