in our company one employee met with an accident, he was covered under ESI Act. due to emergency, he was treated in a pvt. Hospital by employer. later, we apply for medical bills reimbursement and received 50 percent (approx) reimbursement from ESI in his savings account but our employer told to him that we have spent money on your treatment so, get all the money deposited in our account. the employee is working with us, so he was forced to deposit this money into the employer account and he deposited entire reimbursement amount received from esi to company's account.
1. did the company do right with him ?
2. should the employee have to deposit money received from ESI to company account?
3. what is the right of employee in this case ?
Pl. share your valuable feedback
