I just wanted to know that the late mark should be calculated as per the basic salary or gross salary..?

Neither , if you late mark deduction in 3:1 then you should deduct 1 leave from the leave balance of the employee. If employee doesn’t have leave balance then you can deduct from gross salary.

Oh let's don't make anything complicated and extreme.
.3 late comings leads to 1eligible C.L. loss of pay comes on to screen only eligible sick leaves lapsed.
So don't be crazy about deduction of wage for any late coming s please.
Try all other ways of discipline also.pls

There are no law prevailing that any deduction to be made from the salary for late coming. if the Standing order says so then only the employer will be able to have any sort of deduction. however the chances are 100% that such standing order with details on deductions are certified by the labour commissioner.
If even after that the employer are still doing the same has to be objected.
