Dear Groupies..
For ages, recuiters have banked on Campus recruitment to attract the fresh "mouldable" talent. However, not all recruiters are successful in getting the most out of this.
We are startup company and we are planning to try our hands in Campus recruitment in the near future. I'd be glad if someone could brief me the DO's and Dont's of Campus Recruitment ( from a Recruiters perspective).
Furthermore, I'd be thankful if you guys could give me an outline about the entire modus-operandi!!
Thanks in advance!

Don't presume that talent is "mouldable".

Hi Srikrishnan,

Q. For ages, recuiters have banked on Campus recruitment to attract the fresh "mouldable" talent. However, not all recruiters are successful in getting the most out of this.

A. Absolutely you are right on this account but it is noteworthy to note that not all fresh talent are "moundable".

Q.We are startup company and we are planning to try our hands in Campus recruitment in the near future. I'd be glad if someone could brief me the DO's and Dont's of Campus Recruitment ( from a Recruiters perspective).

A. A good question, let me answer this question by asking an unconventional question : -

What should be we do to not to attract the Talent in the Campus Recruitments...

1. Oversell or exaggerate about the recruitment firm.

2. Send the relevant information late.

3. Give a sloppy presentation - Pre Placements Talks.

4. Look Bored & Frustrated

5. Wear sloppy & multicoloured clothes

6. Address the students casually

7. Offer low salary

8. When asked about future plans...say we are thinking & would get back to you.

9. Don't show interest in students & don't mix up with them.

10. If it is lunch time during the presentation, say "Okay guys join us for lunch at the street side cheap dining place".

11. Don't look into their eyes while giving presentation & keep looking at your watch from to time.

Well, i request the other members to help & give suggestions as How and What should be we do to not to attract the Talent in the Campus Recruitments to the above list of ideas...

Just give a thought ....

Cheerio

Campus hiring suits only for a few organisation and for industries like IT where we need trainees to be trained in specfic skills that can be easily acquired in 6 month to 1 yr.
Small companies which goes for campus doesnot get much attention by the candidates nor the placement officer. You might get a last date of the drive and might get candidates left out by the top hirers.
Plan better. Go for computer training institutes. you will get good grads with skills.
