Hi Mr. Shiva,
According to Meternity law, the women should be given 12 weeks leave (Total) - 6 weeks before delivary & 6 weeks after delivary, And in case of mis-carriage 6 weeks leave is granted to the women who have worke for minmum 80 day in one year.
Every women shall be entitled to, and heremployer shall be liable for, the payment of maternity benefit at the rate of averagedaily wage for the period of her actual absence, and any period of her actual absence,and any period immediately following the date of delivery and including the actual day
for her delivery (Section –5).
In addition to the maternity benefit, every women shall
also be entitled to receive a medical bonus of Rs.250/- if no prenatal confinement and
post natal care is provided free of charge (section-8)

Medical bonus is not Rs250/- It is 3500/-. The Act is not applicable if employee is eligible for maternity benefit under ESI scheme. Varghese Mathew 09961266966
