As you have not given much information about the organisation and your role in it, I search for your previous posts. From those I gathered that you were a student in 2008 and were looking for a job in 2009. Kindly give us some more information about the reasons for your query.
Teaching faculty in a university perform different functions in addition to teaching. Some are very active in research and generation of funds; some do consultancy work; some manage departments, etc. Without knowing what system is used in your university it is difficult to give a precise answer.
