The above unauthorized absence shows your irresponsible behavior and attitude towards performing your duty and amounts committing gross misconduct as per the Policy / Code of Conduct of the Company, applicable to you and hence attracts severe punishment as per the policies applicable to you.

You are, therefore, required to submit an explanation in writing within 48 hours from the time of receipt of this letter as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against you in respect of the above charges.
