Dear All,
I would be going for my maternity leave from next week. I want to know that whether PL (privileged / earned leave) in my account will get accumulated during the days that I will be on leave? Also if I feel like discontinuing my job during my maternity leave, then can I resign during my tenure of leave? Will notice period be valid during leave?

Dear somdatta,
Regarding Maternity Leave, No need to submit the resignation.
Secondly you are authorized to have maternity leave for 12 weeks with full pay and allowances.
After completion of 12 weeks of your maternity leave you can also avail the leave without pay.
In your case you can avail the PL from next year’s entitlement.

Hi,
The company will pay 12weeks salary for you in maternity leave. if you feel that you required some more to recover from health issues you can club it.
do not give resignation and please speak with HR-department.

Dear Manasi
1. PL Accumulation should be there for the period you are on maternity leave (12 weeks)
2. Do not resign from the services of the company till your maternity leave is over. Why you want to loose out on salary which is legally due to you.
3. If you wish to discontinue from the services of the company, discuss with your boss and HR, tell them of your intentions of not rejoining and see how things work out, but ensure that your application for maternity leave has been forwarded to HR and approved before you discuss the matter with your seniors / HR else they may ask you to resign before proceeding on maternity leave and thereby you may loose your maternity benefits.
Hope this helps

Dear Somdatta PL will be calculated only for the working days, not even holidays(like sunday, or any other holidays.) Vasudha

1. Pf will not be calculated for maternity leave period. The days will be taken into consideration only for eligibility
2. It is not advisable to resign during this period You can avail the benfits
3. If you do not want to continue, join and work for a week , inform about your inability to continue and resign and give notice. Generally people will be sympathetic during this period and request for some leave if you have leave to your dredit. Otherwise get leave on loss of pay Serve the notice pay Genrally there may not be many issues for handing over as you were already on long leave It is easier to get relieved immdiately thereafter
