For a proprietorship floriculture farm (near Bangalore) which is not covered under ESI, what is the best alternative for covering workers (on daily wages) for health benefits/insurance.
Is it compulsory to cover workers under workman's compensation policy in the absence of ESI?
Please guide and provide information.
Thank you.

Please go to the regional office at Bangalore whether ESI is applicable or not .In case it is a non implemented area you can take Wc policy or else you can take GPA policy based on the number of workers employed.

Dear Deepa,
The WC policy depends on the nature of business.
Owing to nature of the risk covered, there is an increasing need to cover the workers under a WC policy.
The details necessary for the policy are as follows:
No of workers
Daily wage structure
Nature of work
Type of workers (Skilled/Semi-skilled/Unskilled)
For any support or queries on the same, you can contact me on 99163-88995.
I am based out of bangalore working for a private company which is the market leader in commercial lines of business.

WC Policy is not compulsory but if any mishap happens, the Company is responsible for the compensation on its own. Pon
