well, according to me anyone in a senior position can be a buddy to the new entrant. This buddy system can be used like a big brother system wherein when a new entrant has someone to guide him properly thru all company proceedings....all in all it depends on how you view the buddy system and how you can edit it and use it to your advantage....

The buddy system can also be like this , If in case if you are not keeping well and you are looking for the help to take class for one day for your batch ar atleast 1 hr , thats called as best buddy partner.
