Hi,My ex employer has a strange and stupid policy for them notice period and notice pay are two different things even if you pay the notice cost you still needs to take a waiver for notice period.when i quit my ex emploeyr did not provide the waiver for the notice period but they took the notice cost from me.Need advise on:My offer letter states that the company resrves the right to accept/ reject money in lieu of notice period. howvere they have accepted the money. Can i now on the basis of my offer letter demand a relieving letter?

Dear Richa,
If it has mentioned in your Appointement Letter about notice period & if you have paid the requisite amount in lieu of notice period & you have completed all the formalities(For e.g.Hand over, subimission of your official documents etc).then you are entiltled to take a relieving certificate from your company.

Yes, you do have a legal respite. Personally, I feel that your company is violating some employment law or other. Consult a civil advocate.
