Hi, i'm a trainer who was originally with the BPO industry, and, as of now, i'm with the specialty food retail industry. Since i'm a little unsure about how to go about training for my new job, could someone help me out with details on how to make training for retail staff more exemplary? Have seen some really good ppts on this site, and hence, come to you guys with a lot of hope. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks a lot.

Dear alm db
I am a trainer in the food industry........first your POA depends on what are the major areas of the food industry, is it just food service/ HK / FP or is sales involved. Once you determine this your next step is to determine the levels of people involved, then their educational levels and communication levels along with language understood. Once you get the hang of this. Your next steps is to desgin your modules based on your find outs. The sessions should be then scheduled according to work timmings cos all the employees cant attend at one time as the outlets has to run.
Some of the prickly issues in training food industry is
  • oversized egos from top to bottom
  • superiority & inferirority complexes on learning
  • outright shows of boredom
  • lack of punctuality in attending programs
  • time grabbers in different garbs
So make a lot of ppts, find a lot of games and get the message across
All the best
Lisa
