Hi...............
Friend...............
There is no relation of PF and Probation period of an employee.
PF is a social right of each and every employee.
Also, PF is optional for an employee not a mandatory.

It's very true. PF is actually a Statutory obligation of the employer (Provided the Factory / company is covered under the PF Act, which I believe is " any factory or undertaking employing more than 20 employees")
Not only the employer has to deduct the PF (if applicable), but he has to contribute an equal amount from his own.
Probationary period has nothing to do with Statutory Obligations of the Employer.
However an Industrial Tranee / other trainees not employed on the Rolls of the company are not covered under PF rules / Act.
Please correct me, anyone if I am wrong here.

You can skip deducting PF from salary if the the employee is a trainee..eg ,mgmt trainee, GET...however, make sure salary is paid under name of stipend..

Hi,
Is it obligatory on the part of the employer to deduct PF of employees from the day1 of the employees entering the organization. If we have Trainees Engineer and we are giving them stifend during the probation period. Is employer liable to deduct their PF as they are trainees.

Dear Nagpal
Training is diefferent from probation
Training
You engage a fresher and call him as Trainee, it is acceptabale
If you engage a person with 5 years experience and call him as Trainee, it is generalkly not acceptable.
During training, we give inputs. We do not expect outputs. If you expect Outputs from a Trainee, then it will construed as regular employment. Practically, this may not happen. But on rewcords dont show targets for a Trainee.
Probation
It is an observation period You expect output from him.

Dear Nagpal
I agree with siva,
nagpal as you said already Trainee is entitle to get stifund and not a salaryon monthly basis,
so a trainee is not entitle to get regular benefit as of a company employees such as PF, HRA and all..
On the other hand, company cannot impose deduction of statutory complains as PF on Trainees

Dear Siva
About your comment on Training and Probation, I didnt get what is practically not possible. Did u mean that we cant appoint a candidate as a trainee on regular basis. Can u expalin on the subject of not showing targets of a trainee.
You have given a example of appointing a person with 5 yrs experience as a trainee but a fresher can be appointed as a trainee on a regular basis or not.

Manisha
