Hi All,
I need some help in terms of the no of leave which is to be given to an employee on a yearly basis as per the Bombay Shop & Establishment Act.
Is it mandatory to provide certain no of leaves to an employee and is there any category in which these leaves are to be divided like "Sick Leave, privileged leave and etc.
Request you to help w\me with all the information in regards to leave management.
Regards,
Prem.

Hi Prem,
Its me Dheeraj.
In BSE Act there is nothing mentioned with regards classification of leaves such as CL, SL etc.
As per the provisions of the Act, every employee who has been employed for a minimum of 3 months in a year is entitled for 5 days leave for every 60 days worked i.e. 21 days leave for 240 days worked. These leaves are exclusive of mandatory leaves (1st May, 15th Aug, 2nd Oct and 26th Jan).
The accumulation limit is 42 days.
SL and CL policy depends on company to company. But 21 days leave, mentioned above, is mandatory.
Should you need any further clarifications on this please feel free to contact on 9322019204.
Best Regards
Dheeraj

Hi Dheeraj,
Thanks for the reply, may be you can help me with this one as well.
Can we reduce the number of Annual leaves if we are drafting a new policy for example lets say from 21 to 18.
Any information regarding the same would be appreciated....
Thanks,
Abhishek
