or will it be like Monthly gross salary/31 days*no days present=net salary
Similarly in FEB days are 28 and am having leave for 02 days How will be the calculation is it like:Monthly gross salary/30 days*no days present=net salary
or will it be Monthly gross salary/28 days*no days present=net salary
Similarly in June days are 30 and am having leave for 02 days How will be the calculation is it like:Monthly gross salary/30 days*no days present=net salary

Hi
I do not recollect legal provisions on this right now as I handled this about 15 years back in two companies
1. For monthly rated employees we followed 30 as the common denominator for all months for purpose of leave salary calculation
2. For workmen who were also monthly rated, we introduced 26 as the common denominator for purpose of leave
The only reason I remember as to why followed 30 for staff was that they were eligible for more leave facilities
Prior to introducing this, we used to have lots of grievances on leave wages and this set at rest all those grievances

Hi Tarun,
If your leaves are approved and you are getting the salary of complete month then it will be shown as 30/31 number of days of work only..
Number of days shown is based on number of days in that particular month..
Like for february, the number of days become 28 onl;y..

Dear,
Salary is used for payroll employees and wages is used for contractuals.
Salary or wages can be calculated on the number of days in the month.
Pf is calculated on the basic,ESI is calculated on the Gross Salary.
Gross Salary-Deductions(PF or ESI)=Net Salary
Please check the leave manual for your company:
Payroll employees or contractuals= for them which leaves are approved such as sick/casual leaves,Earned leaves/Privileged leaves,Maternity/Paternity Leaves as in some cases these leaves are applicable after confirmation or from the date of joining and the leaves are approved by your immediate supervisor.(Excluding National holidays)
If you are paying them overtime it can be calculated on gross as single and on basic as double.

Hi All
Am still insisting on more experinced reply as am fghting against my mgt since long they are having the practice to calculate on 30 days for every month telling this is right but moreover in a year days are as follows:
31 days in 07 mths
30 days in 04 mths
28/29 days in 01 mth
If we treat 30 days for all the mths then 7 days are lost for payment agaginst employee, only 01 month is having 2/1 day additional payment but ultimately 5/6 days are loss to employee.
Kindly seniors understand and reply soon.
thnx
