I had joined this Indian Software Company in April. And now without mentioning any reason these guys have laid me off. Neither are these guys letting me know the reason for layoff and not settling my account. I have been trying to follow up with these guys but no response. Currently, I have a Mac Book with me, should I be returning it to them before they respond or how shall I handle this matter? Please advise me to take the right decision.

Dear Abhay,

You haven't mentioned in what capacity you worked - in the Cadre of workman or supervisory or managerial. Anyway, to set the remedial course of action into motion, it is better to lodge a complaint with the State Labor Commissioner and he would inquire into the matter through any of his subordinate officers for the area where the establishment is located. Return of the Company's property in your possession can be decided later.
