Hi, Maternity leave is compulsory if your company come under the purview of Maternity Benefit Act. Paternity leave is not compulsory but optional at the discretion of the employer. for further information please refer to the Act.

Are you asking about what other companies do? or are you asking something in relation to the act?

Just the Maternity Policy can not be taken in isolation. I hope you are setting up proper HR Processes covering all aspects not just maternity policy
