I have a question or rather a confusion, so in my PF account my name is Arjun R P and in my bank account its my full name and I have been applying for my pf since 2019 and have faced no problem but now all of a sudden when I applied for my pf I get a message stating my name should be updated with my bank as it should be the same that's in my pf account. What should I do? Because previously I've had no issue in withdrawing my money even though the names were different in my pf and bank accounts.

Now everything is linked t your adhar and the process is online. The system will not accept when there is even a slight change in the name, date of birth. Earlier the adhar contained only the year of birth and that was sufficient when the UAN was introduced. Now when the system started matching the name and other details of the member with adhar, everything has become a mess. That is why the claim requests get rejected. It is always good if you change the name in the adhar as per your school and educational certificates. Make it in the bank also. The former can be done from an adhar facilitation centre and the later can be done at the bank itself. Alternatively, if the name as per the PF records is wrong, change it through your member portal and get it approved by the employer. Minor changes can be made through the online portal itself, otherwise you may have to file offline joint declaration.
