Since you say that you need resource allocation for the IT industry, let me assume that you are asking the resource allocation for the upcoming project. Secondly, the only resource you will require is human resources. Of course, you also need other resources like servers, computers, laptops, work desks, conference room, internet connectivity etc.
In that case, has the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) been made for the project? This is the first step of doing resource allocation. The other important tools of project management are PERT and CPM techniques. However, these are little advanced ones, and it takes time to understand. As of now, you may check with the management on WBS and do the resource allocation.
