If an employee’s basic is more than 15000/- and he is not enrolled in PF previously then is it mandatory to employer to enroll that employee in PF?

Dear Colleague,
No, it is not a statutory obligation on the part of employer to cover any employee who was not a PF member previously and also drawing more than 15K salary. It is discretionary in this case.

However if he was a member in previous company and was a PF Member, then the employee must be covered now.
