Clarification sought, an employee drawing basic salary of Rs. 30 K per month but PF benefit restricted to Rs. 15 K is absent from duties for 15 days and his basic salary is calculated accordingly as 15 K. In ECR employer show's 15 days NCP. Is the employer liable to pay PF on Rs. 7500/- or Rs. 15000/- as the department while settling pension claim fixes pension deducting NCP days? Please share your views or supporting documents if available. Thanks

Few establishments deducting on full basic salary drawn upto Rs. 15000/- even LOP is for 15 days. Others deducting EPF taking into account maximum benefit of Rs. 1800/- multiplied by number days for which basic salary paid and dividing by number of days of that particular month even where basic salary comes after loss of pay comes to Rs. 10-15 thousand.
