Hello Respected HRs, I want to rejoin a company but I left that company on a bad note, disagreement with my manager 1 year back when she is telling me to serve notice period that was unjust happened to me, because no one has served before. I did Buyout. Now rehiring checks are going on and she is not approving my request. Blocked me from everywhere so that ice breaker is not at all possible. Suggest me what to do now?

Dear Pranav,

By your own admission, you had left your immediate preceding company on a bitter note and that too just a year ago. Now, what exactly are the compelling circumstances that make you rejoin the company?

Life is non-linear or unpredictable. Therefore, it is better to leave the door ajar that could give in to a re-entry. But your affray with the manager has closed the door of the previous company tightly. Your reporting manager is ensuring that the doors are closed permanently too.

There is no solution to this problem as such. Any other manager in her place would have reacted samely. Just think for a while about any manager in her place. He/she also would have frustrated your efforts to rejoin. How awkward would it be for the Manager to face you? While children may forget and regroup after the fight, but it is uncomfortable or constraining for adults.

Therefore, the only suggestion that can be given is to let go of the situation and attempt to get a job somewhere else.

Thanks,

I do agree with @DineshDivekar sir especially that you have a bad incident with that particular manager. Unless you are able to mend the past misunderstanding whatever it may be with that person looks like there is no option for you. If you are not getting an audience with the manager then it is best to leave it to the discretion of the other senior management people within that organization to take a decision about your re-entry. Of course the management will evaluate who is more important to them, whether it is the manager or you before they make their decision. You will have to accept whatever decision is made.
