To take an extreme view in the matter is onerous either to the employee or to the industry concerned. But at the same time looking to its sustainability, those industries which made payment of full salary or part salary despite no work being done is also to be compensated in some way or the other. It may not be on a 1:1 ratio, i.e., for every day paid deduct one leave, but it has to be some formula decided on a considerate basis, the factors are all known. The formula has to be industry specific.
